In 1831, Augustus Fenner built the farmhouse to the left. He was one of the earliest residents in the township, noted for his unquestioned public and private
integrity, his religion and honesty of purpose as well as sound principles. Perhaps these qualities are what elected him to be a state representative for Miami County in 1852. Like his descendants, we
strive to be known for our honesty and integral pursuit of sustainable agriculture.
At Fenner Farm we strive to produce everything fresh with sustainable eco-agricultural practices. Basically, that means no synthetic insecticides, pesticides,
or fertilizers, nothing genetically modified. Just good old fashioned farm fresh produce the way God intended. We think healthy food should be healthy for the consumer, the producer and the environment, as
well as affordable.
Studies have shown that foods produced locally benefit us in many ways. Here are our favorites:
- Locally grown produce is fresher and tastes better as it has longer time to ripen
- Eating local is better for air quality and pollution
- Buying local keeps us in touch with the seasons and the farmers
- Eating local means more for the local economy and supporting local providers supports responsible land development
